MISSION STATEMENT
The LatrobeValley Triathlon Club has been in existence for 19 years and
has members in the Latrobe Valley, Sale and West Gippsland areas.
The main base of the club is Traralgon with clubrooms being situated at the
Traralgon Pool.
Club meetings are held at the pool on the 3rd Tuesday of each month.
The club as about 60 members with the majority of these being actively involved
in club events.
The club has had members compete in World Championship events at both the
Triathlon and
Long Course distance as well as representatives at the Hawaiian Ironman each
year for the last seven years.
The club runs a Triathlon series over the summer months, usually a twilight event during the week that caters for all levels of competitor.
The Gippsland region is rich with diverse terrain for training. There is easy access to quiet mountain roads from the Latrobe Valley that make for excellent training rides.
Many members take advantage of the close access of plantation and natural bushland for running and mountain biking.
Hazelwood Pondage can also be used year round for open water swimming as it is heated by the nearby power station.
The club publishes a monthly newsletter, runs regular training, conduct social functions and provides members with coaching days periodically.
